Our Commitment
Gifted Hands Home Care is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation in any form. We are dedicated to ensuring that slavery and human trafficking do not occur in any part of our business or supply chain.
About Us
Gifted Hands Home Care is a private domiciliary care provider based in West Sussex, offering high-quality, person-centred care services to adults in their own homes. We employ care workers, administrative staff, and collaborate with third-party suppliers, including recruitment and equipment providers.
Policies and Procedures
To reinforce our commitment to preventing modern slavery, we have established the following policies and procedures:
Safeguarding Policy – Ensures the protection of vulnerable adults from abuse, exploitation, or neglect.
Recruitment Policy – Incorporates right-to-work checks, DBS vetting, and ensures fair and transparent employment practices.
Whistleblowing Policy – Encourages staff to report any concerns related to unethical practices, with assurance of protection from retaliation.
Supplier Code of Conduct – Requires our partners and suppliers to comply with ethical labour standards, including anti-slavery practices.
Training and Awareness
All employees receive safeguarding and induction training that includes awareness of modern slavery and exploitation. This equips our team to identify signs of abuse or trafficking and understand how to report it appropriately.
Due Diligence in Recruitment and Supply Chains
Gifted Hands Home Care takes the following actions to prevent the risk of modern slavery:
Conducts due diligence on recruitment agencies to ensure they follow ethical labour practices.
Verifies identity, employment eligibility, and legal documentation of all employees.
Engages suppliers who commit to upholding the values of the Modern Slavery Act.
Reviews supplier contracts to include clauses relating to anti-slavery compliance.
Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
We regularly review our policies and practices to improve our effectiveness in combating modern slavery. We remain vigilant in identifying and mitigating new risks as our operations and supply chains evolve.
Reporting Concerns
If any employee, contractor, or member of the public suspects a case of modern slavery or human trafficking involving our organisation or its suppliers, they are encouraged to report it confidentially to our management or safeguarding lead.
Approval and Review
This statement has been approved by the management of Gifted Hands Home Care and is reviewed annually.
